Concrete removal in Los Angeles means breaking out the old slab and hauling every piece off your property. A cracked driveway or a sunken patio can weigh tons by the time it is broken up. Breaking the slab is the fast part, and any contractor can rent a jackhammer. Loading that weight into trucks and getting it off the street is the work you pay for.
Southwest Hauling has been breaking out and hauling concrete in Los Angeles since 1994. Greg owns the company, and he still looks at the jobs himself. For twenty years we held City of Los Angeles contracts on foreclosed and abandoned properties. Those jobs were hauling before they were anything else, which is why we run three crews and our own trucks.

Every job starts the same way, with a free estimate at your property. We check how thick the slab is and how close a truck can park. Access sets most of the plan and most of the price. A driveway at the street is quick work, while a pool deck behind a house takes more handling.
On the day of the job we make a saw cut where the old concrete meets what stays. The breaker goes to work from there, and the skid steer loads broken pieces straight into the truck. Full truck out, empty truck back, until the slab is gone and the dirt is raked flat. If you are pouring new concrete after, we can handle the grading while the equipment is still on site.
Concrete demolition on a house lot is mostly a weight problem, and thickness sets the weight. A thin patio slab breaks up fast, while a driveway poured over rebar fights back. Reinforced concrete has to be cut into pieces before any of it moves. Old footings and the foundations left after a house demolition are the heaviest concrete on a property.
Access is the other half, and it is the part homeowners underestimate. When a truck backs right up to the slab, the loading goes quick. When the concrete sits behind a gate or down a hillside lot, every piece gets moved twice. Narrow side yards and steep driveways are common here, so our skid steers fit through a standard gate.
Our truck yard sits in the South Bay, so most of our concrete removal work is close to home. We cover Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, San Pedro and down to Long Beach. On the Westside we work Beverly Hills, Brentwood, Bel Air, Santa Monica and Pacific Palisades. We did cleanup work after the Palisades fire, and our trucks still run those streets.
Plenty of concrete removal contractors in Los Angeles hire out the hauling to a third party. We own the trucks, so your concrete leaves the same day we break it. A lot of our work is on high-end homes where the owner wants the job kept quiet. Call 310-546-4855 for a free estimate, or see the rest of our service areas.

Tell us what needs to come down, come out or get hauled off. A few photos help. We cover the Westside and South Bay, Beverly Hills to Long Beach.
The owner prices the job at the property, free. He checks the structure, the access and where the trucks will sit, then gives you one number for the whole job.
Three crews, our own trucks and skid steers. The teardown, the loading and the hauling stay with one company, so the schedule holds.
Debris goes out on our trucks to licensed facilities. We sweep the street, clear the drive and leave the property ready for whatever comes next.

Our own trucks and skid steers do the loading and the hauling. Debris leaves on our schedule, not a bin company's. The teardown and the haul-off are one job and one price.
Twenty years of City of Los Angeles contracts clearing foreclosed and vacant properties. That work runs on deadlines and documentation, and the habit stuck. Sites get finished, not abandoned.
Much of our work sits behind gates on the Westside, and NDAs are routine. Crews park where you say, keep the site tidy and do not talk about whose property they are on.
